Orla Kiely A/W14

I was lucky enough to attend the Orla Kiely A/W14 presentation, and as a huge fan of Orla and her work, and having attended last season, I was more than excited to see what was in store. The invite stated that the collection was called "Raining Cats & Dogs" a typical ode to a rainy Britain, inspired by the musical "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" and 1960's British singers Petula Clark, Cilla Black and Sandie Shaw, we were in for a treat!

Comfortably seated on a park bench, under a street lamp and a projection of a rain splattered cobbled street on the floor, we were ready to start, all finished off with the cutest cup of tea emblazoned with the show invite, its the small things...

The one thing that this collection screamed at me was TEXTURES, from jacquards, to coated cottons, bonded neoprene, tweed, teddy bear wool and curly shearling, the collection was overrun with textures, and we all know how much I love a good textured look.

Silhouettes included sleeveless pussy bow dresses, printed tunics and slim fit trouser suits worn with pony skin handbags and patent leather with THEE CUTEST cat & dog clutch bags!

Once again Orla Kiely has risen to the top of my wishlist, i've got my eye on that adorable teddy bear coat and the chunky knitted neon pink jumper, and of course each and every pair of shoes from her collaboration with Clarks, oh Orla you've done it again!
